DAVID ABBOTT
Het werk van David Abbott kan je nog het best omschrijven als landschapspoëzie tot leven gebracht in beelden. Een ode aan zijn bijzondere relatie met de natuur. Op zijn ontelbare fietstochten laat David beelden, vormen en kleuren tot zich doordringen om te vertalen in een stijl die alles behalve realistisch is. Lijnen zijn wazig, kleuren subtiel. Hij spreekt over de natuur als over een hechte vriend:
“I have seen you before. You the field, the stile, the stand of trees. But you have changed. All the spectres of memory and imagination coalesce with what is in front of me. What is in front of me? This place that has become everything at once.”
David Abbott leeft en werkt in Bristol, Engeland. Zijn landschappen in olieverf op doek en acrylic op hout zullen voor het eerst te zien zijn in België.
